LP-led deals
- Split by 2022 weighted-average transaction value for each type of transaction
- Fund geography represents the geographic focus of the funds sold
- In a year driven by geopolitical instability, with a war in Europe and the continuing impact of COVID in China, demand for North American funds remained strongest. North American funds' share of LP-led deals exhibited another year-over-year increase—from 67% in 2021 to 72% last year. For the second year in a row, Asia and Australasia funds' share fell the most (4%), while EMEA generally held steady.
GP-led deals
- Secondary investors chose to get their exposure to Europe and emerging markets through GP-led transactions where the asset exposure could be curated as opposed to acquiring diverse portfolios of assets. As a result, European and Latin American deal flow was up by 4% in each region, with Asia & Australia roughly unchanged from last year.
